Dr. Quirk grew up in South Korea. As a teenager she and her family moved to the San Francisco area. She attended UC Berkeley and earned a BA degree in molecular and cell biology where she was on the Dean’s Honor List. Prior to attending UC Irvine Medical School she participated in basic science research on therapeutic recombinant proteinase. She graduated from UC Irvine Medical School with numerous research awards and honors. Dr. Quirk found her passion in Surgery and completed internship and residency in General Surgery at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. During her residency, she was drawn to Vascular Surgery because of the challenges in the management of complex vascular disease, its technical elegance, and a lifelong relationship with her patients, which is rare among surgical specialties. She is one of the very few female Vascular Surgeons in the United States. She manages the full spectrum of vascular disease, including aneurysm, carotid disease, peripheral vascular disease, dialysis access and venous disease such as varicose and spider veins. She is board certified in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her baby boy.
