Dr. Albaugh came to Ventura County in 2004 after completing his training and Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in vascular surgery. He did his surgery internship in 1994 at Portsmouth Naval Hospital and then spent three years on active duty in the general medical officer. After his Naval commitment was complete. He entered surgery residency at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Camden, New Jersey. During that time he published several papers, most notably was the work done on the effective nicotine on the blood vessels.
He is a founding member and a senior partner of the Coastal Vascular Center. He has extensive experience in carotid disease, open aortic reconstruction, endovascular aneurysm repair, lower extremity revascularization and limb salvage and wound care.
He also pioneered Coastal Vascular Center’s comprehensive venous insufficiency program. This program is designed to treat the effects of venous insufficiency. This includes endovenous ablation of the greater saphenous vein, ultrasound guided sclerotherapy, and innovative wound care.
He lives in Ventura with his wife and his son. He enjoys running, cycling, backpacking, and good wine and cheese.
